ACRC Annual Conference

Last week Sycamores staff members were well represented among the distinguished list of presenters at the Association of Children’s Residential and Community services (ACRC)’s 66th Annual Conference.

With over 200 members worldwide, ACRC is an international voice for high-quality children’s residential & community services – focused on leadership, advocacy, innovation, and best practices. A highlight of the conference was the presentation of the ACRC Lifetime Fellow Award to Sycamores Chief Program Officer Joe Ford.

This year’s Annual Conference, a 4-day hybrid event held both in-person in Louisville, KY and virtually, was a wonderful opportunity for staff to share and learn with colleagues across child and family-serving programs. Sycamores Chief Public Policy and Advocacy Officer Wendy Wang welcomed participants at the Public Policy Town Hall where the current national public policy landscape was discussed. The Sycamores Team also presented on LGBTQ+ inclusive policies in residential care, strategies for employing family/parent partners in residential programs, and best practices on serving commercially exploited youth, among other topics. Other Sycamores staff presenters included Nick Ryan, Daisy Delgado, Tim Lin, Gloria Salgado, Natalie Gallardo, Cynthia Williams, and Gina Peck-Sobolewski.
