“The best thing about being a School-Based Mental Health Therapist at Sycamores is the opportunity to provide support to underserved populations and immigrants, especially since I have walked more than a mile in the shoes of the immigrant myself.“

opeyemi edgal, Clinician

“The best part about my job, is that I get to interact with co-workers daily. I have cultivated positive relationships along the way and have met some of the kindest and most genuine people while working for Sycamores.“

SERGIO BECERRIL-AREVALO, LEAD COMMUNITY WELLNESS SPECIALIST

“I decided to join Sycamores because I could relate to young black men who do not have father figures in their lives, and I wanted to be that male role model to help them find their way. I know I can help them navigate through some challenges by just being present and understanding their struggles.“

JAMES ROBINSON, YOUTH SPECIALIST

“My experience at Sycamores prepared me for my future career by helping increase my confidence as a clinician. The agency provides thorough trainings around clients’ needs, diagnoses, and documentation software, and my supervisors stressed the importance of self-care, which helped me better my time management skills and be present in my sessions with clients.“
