How We Help: Alize’s Story

Imagine facing your darkest moment, with no one to call and nowhere to turn. For many individuals and families in crisis, Sycamores is the one call they can make. From stabilizing a family on the brink of homelessness to guiding a young person out of despair, Sycamores steps in when there is no one else.

Alize, a former foster youth, had been living on the streets for four years before she found Sycamores and entered our Transitional Housing Program for young adults. With Sycamores, she found stable housing, a supportive team, and a pathway to independence.

Without Sycamores, I would still be on the streets,” shared Alize. “Sycamores has made me more grounded, more responsible and gave me a sense of direction.”

Today, she’s building a brighter future, finishing her college degree, and pursuing her career goals. Each year, young adults like Alize turn to Sycamores for stability, guidance, and hope when they need it most.

Your support can help more young adults like Alize. Together, we can create brighter futures.
