Sycamores Named Nonprofit of the Year

We are thrilled to announce that Sycamores has been named Nonprofit of the Year for the 25th State Senate District! Senator Anthony J. Portantino (D – Burbank) recognized our organization during a special award luncheon at the State Capitol earlier this month.

President & CEO Debra Manners, along with Chief Public Policy & Advocacy Officer Wendy Wang, attended the luncheon to proudly represent Sycamores.

“I am honored to recognize the Sycamores and its terrific team for their compassion and dedication to the wellbeing of youth and families,” stated Senator Portantino. “Through behavioral health services, crisis outreach, homeless and housing support, residential services, foster care and adoption, and the family resource center, Sycamores has been serving our community with distinction for decades. This well-deserving organization delivers crucial programs and I am proud to have them doing so much in the 25th District.”

Each year, the California State Legislature, in partnership with the California Association of Nonprofits, celebrates Nonprofits Day by honoring organizations that demonstrate exceptional community service. We are immensely grateful for this recognition, which underscores the vital impact of our work.

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by Senator Portantino for the services Sycamores provides across Southern California,” stated Debra Manners.

This honor inspires us to continue our mission with renewed dedication, helping children, young adults, and families build better lives. Thank you, Senator Portantino and the California Association of Nonprofits, for this prestigious acknowledgment.
